Rishta — Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account on Rishta, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to use Rishta
• You must provide accurate and truthful information in your profile
• Parent accounts must be created by the actual parent or legal guardian
• Child accounts must be created by the person whose profile it represents

3. Account Responsibility

• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure
• You are responsible for all activity under your account
• One person, one account — do not create multiple accounts for yourself
• Parents may create separate accounts for each of their children who are looking for a match
• Do not share your account credentials with others

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Upload fake, misleading, or someone else's photos
• Provide false information in your profile
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
• Send spam, unsolicited messages, or commercial content
• Attempt to share contact information (phone, email, social media) before admin-approved exchange
• Use the app for any purpose other than genuine matrimonial matchmaking
• Scrape, copy, or extract data from the app
• Attempt to hack, exploit, or disrupt the app

5. Profile Content

• You retain ownership of the content you upload (photos, bio, etc.)
• By uploading content, you grant Rishta a license to display it to other users for matchmaking purposes
• Photos are scanned for inappropriate content and face detection — photos that don't meet guidelines will be rejected
• We may remove content that violates these terms without notice

6. Matching & Communication

• Rishta provides matchmaking tools — we do not guarantee matches or outcomes
• AI-generated compatibility scores and insights are advisory, not definitive
• Chat messages are private between matched users — but may be reviewed if a user is reported
• Contact information (phone numbers) is shared only through the "Ready to Connect" feature with mutual consent and admin approval

7. Privacy of Children

• Child pass/veto decisions are private — only their own parent is informed
• Chat between children is private — parents cannot read messages
• Children's dealbreakers and detailed habits are not visible to parents

8. Safety & Reporting

• You can block any user at any time
• You can report users for fake profiles, harassment, spam, or inappropriate content
• We review reports and may suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms
• If you encounter illegal activity, contact local authorities directly

9. Account Suspension & Deletion

• We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms
• You may delete your account at any time from My Profile
• Upon deletion, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days

10. Limitation of Liability

• Rishta is provided "as is" — we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
• We are not responsible for the actions, behaviour, or truthfulness of other users
• We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app
• You are responsible for your own decisions regarding matches and relationships

11. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore.
